and at least 20 times faster than UTL_FILE or sqlplus spool for full table unload.

- The user is able to easily configure the output data format which can be csv, xml, with any kind of delimiters, fixed length, EBCDIC character set and Comp-3 format.

Very often a Database Administrator (DBA) has to copy an extremely large table from one production database instance to another. Using regular native database export/import is slow and adds a significant overhead on the production environment. DBA might create a transportable tablespace, detach it from one instance, and attach it to another. Building tablespaces on NFS is not allowed (excluding NetApp). FastReader resolves this issue by unloading data from the tablespace, residing on a regular disk or SAN into a text file on NFS or another NAS mounted device.
